Matcha Blind Tasting — A Journey Through Japan's Regions [Sep 6th]

Join us for a relaxed afternoon exploring matcha from across Japan. This isn't about right or wrong answers — it's a playful, social deep-dive into how region, soil, and cultivation shape the flavour of matcha, tasted side by side with fellow tea lovers.

What You'll Experience

Over this 2-hour session, you'll blind taste your way through 8 matchas sourced from 5 different growing regions in Japan:

• Uji (宇治) — 2 matchas from Japan's most historic and celebrated matcha region
• Kagoshima (鹿児島) — 1 matcha from Japan's sunny southern growing region, known for bold, vibrant flavour
• Shizuoka (静岡) — 2 matchas from one of Japan's largest tea-producing areas
• Yame (八女) — 2 matchas from a Fukuoka region prized for rich umami and sweetness
• Ise (伊勢) — 1 matcha from a lesser-known region with a distinct character

Each matcha will be served blind — no labels, no hints. You'll take tasting notes on colour, aroma, umami, sweetness, and bitterness as you go, then try to guess which one is the most expensive before we reveal the lineup. Afterward, we'll go around and share favourites and talk through what made each matcha stand out (or surprise you).

All ticket sales are final. We're unable to offer refunds for no-shows or cancellations after payment.

Can I reschedule to a different date?
Unfortunately no, we're not able to offer date changes or transfers to another session once you've registered.

What time should I arrive?
The session starts promptly at the scheduled time. We recommend arriving at least 10 minutes early to check in and get settled before we begin.

What if I'm late?
Please note the tasting will start on time regardless, so late arrivals may miss part of the experience.

Do I need to bring anything or prepare in advance?
Nothing at all — just bring yourself! No tea knowledge or preparation needed.
